Popular TuneIn App Immediately Available for Windows 8 Release Preview

Redesigned App to Give Windows 8 Consumers Unlimited, Free Access to the World's Radio

PALO ALTO, CA and REDMOND, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 07/05/12 -- TuneIn, a service that lets people listen to music, sports and news, announced it is available as an app for the Windows 8 Release Preview. This version of TuneIn -- completely redesigned to leverage the unique Windows Metro style UI -- can be downloaded for free from the Windows Store. This announcement adds to the more than 150 platforms that distribute the TuneIn service to over 30 million monthly active listeners from around the world.

"TuneIn is a highly rated app for streaming radio, and we are thrilled to collaborate with the company on a unique version for Windows 8," said Aidan Marcuss, senior director of Windows Core Marketing and Ecosystem at Microsoft Corp. "With TuneIn, consumers can easily find and listen to their favorite artists, sports teams, comedians, and talk personalities while they work, read or play."

This version of TuneIn has been completely redesigned for Windows 8 Release Preview. Glossy backdrops of concertgoers appear in the background as listeners navigate smoothly between live radio stations, on-demand programs and the now-playing screen. If listeners find a favorite station, they can easily add it to their presets or pin it directly to their Start screen.

"The Windows 8 operating system has helped us reimagine the TuneIn experience for an environment where simplicity and quickly getting what you want are at the forefront," noted Kristin Perkins, Director of Product, TuneIn. "Not only did Windows 8 give us the canvas to create a beautiful interface that works with keyboard, mouse, and touch, but it also helped us showcase how TuneIn can easily deliver listeners' favorite stations by providing the ability to pin them directly to their Start screen."

People everywhere can enjoy TuneIn today across more than 150 devices, including iPads, iPods, Android tablets, smart TVs (Roku, Google TV), connected cars (Ford, BMW, MINI), every smartphone platform and at www.tunein.com.
